KRISTA VISITS/ 2006, 2007,2008,2009,2010

Another brutal, cold weather day, at least it was not raining whew, but strong frigid winds, and staff was late letting us in, cause they could not get the stupid count right, and no one enters until it is correct, duh,meanwhile, we in line are freezing from the harsh cold winds ugh...they do not even have the common decency to let us in, and wait in the lobby of the processing in area, that is so cruel, ESP. Due to this brutal weather. Krista and I did have a wonderful visit tho, laughed, talked about many things, am still so glad I have managed to bring to her, a bit of cheer, and lift her spirits.
She seems to be doing ok so far....will post Sun visit when I return

Sun visit went well, the hardest part is leaving, ugh... Weather was much better Sun, tho it was cold, it was sunny and blue skies........did accidently left my money key in one of the venting machines, someone found it, turned it in to the guard, unfortunately she gave it to the vendor, instead of asking people in the visit area, if anyone was missing theirs, I have tried to contact the vendor by phone to no success, ugh....it had approx 20 bucks left on it....if I cannot get up with the vendor, I will be forced to purchase another key, next time I go for a visit there, ugh.....but when I do get another key, I will put an ID tag on it like it is on all of my house and vehicle keys. Should have been more careful, an oversight on my part. Krista is doing ok, and in good spirits, still no word on her appeal. Let's all hope 2010 will be a more positive year.

This visit was a surprise visit, for my next scheduled visit was planned for April, but moved the visit up, hoping to meet up with two other lady advocates, but the weather just was not feasible. Driving up to Greenwood was great weather,on Thurs. but then Friday, we were bombarded with SNOW, cold, rain, visits were cancelled for Fri and Sat. But did get to visit Krista Sun 1-5, and Mon 1-4. She did NOT know I was coming, she was totally suprised to the point of tears, but of joy. She has been so sad and depressed, the guard had to call her twice, for she was asleep. I even smile now, as I can see the grins on her face as she entered the visitation room. Am sooo happy and it warms my heart to know I brought some joy and happiness to her, if only for a little while. It is always most difficult to say goodbye and leave her behind. I wish I could do more for her, toward her release. I do plan to return sometime in April again, perhaps mother nature will be a bit kinder that trip, but I look forward to the visits, it is therapy for us both.

Visitation with Krista on April 9-11, weather was gorgeous, visits went great, was so nice to see her again, tho she is still quite thin, she seems to be doing ok under the circumstances. Still no word about the appeal........Her spring package was ordered with the help of another advocate, she always gets so excited about it, and really looking forward to helping to hand out the rest of the packages. Still works in the canteen comissary....just wish there was some educational courses/classes she could be involved in, instead of time wasting away!!

Hope to visit again sometimes in Aug.
